WELCOME

Latrobe Cricket Club, Tasmania, Australia, is a proud member of Cricket North West (formerly NWTCA), the premier turf cricket competition in north west Tasmania.  We have been a member of this elite competition since 1950, winning two 1st Grade Premierships and multiple lower grade premierships, including the 2009/10 Under-17 Premiership.

Located in the historic town of Latrobe, Latrobe Cricket Club is based at Latrobe Recreation Ground, with entry off Gilbert Street (training facilities) and Last Street (club rooms).  The club boasts terrific training facilities, with outdoor turf and synthetic nets and centre wickets, along with a refurbished 3-wicket Indoor Centre (including bowling machine) and public gym available to members.

Latrobe Cricket Club plays a very important role in encouraging members of our community to be physically active.  We oversee IN2 Cricket (boys & girls aged 5-8), Primary School, High School, Girls Cricket, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, 2nd Grade and 1st Grade.  Cricket is our purpose, but social interaction, encouragement and enjoyment are seen as just as important in achieving success.

Our club places a strong emphasis on creating a family atmosphere where players, members and supporters enjoy one another's company while striving to produce the best possible on-field results.  Many of our current senior players began their involvement with Latrobe Cricket Club in primary school and have, in effect, "grown up" within the club.  If you come down to the ground on a match day you will see our next generation of Latrobe cricketers on the sidelines having an impromptu game, all the while hoping they'll get their turn out in the middle some day.

We have a sister-club relationship with the UK-based Frimley Cricket Club, and many gifted players have crossed back and forth between our clubs, sharing cricket and social experiences, making friendships that defy distance and time, bound by a shared love of cricket.  We certainly hope that this relationship continues for a long time to come.
