Rex Punshon
Rex was the inaugural captain of Latrobe's 1st Grade team and enjoyed a distinguished playing career with the club. He was a passionate Latrobe person and President of the club for six years, as well as club patron for a long time also. He loved parking on the Percival Street side of Latrobe Rec and watching matches when he wound back his involvement.

Mrs Jenny Bryan
Jenny is the mother of former 1st Grade scorer Jason Bryan. She devoted countless hours to looking after the player's off-field needs in the kitchen and as a committee member.
Bill Redpath
"Big Bill", as he was affectionately known, was a larger than life character who devoted the greatest part of his life to the sporting clubs of Latrobe. At Latrobe Cricket Club Bill was a long-time player, who then turned his hand to off-field roles such as rolling the wickets when he retired. Bill was especially keen to involve children in sport, a passion he continued right up until his death.

Michael Parker
Michael Parker was a fantastic contributor to Latrobe Cricket Club. In a long and distinguised 1st Grade career he made 2813 1st Grade runs as a batsman, and as a wicket-keeper made 201 dismissals. He was the mainstay of our 1st Grade side for a long time. In a Legends Match a few years ago he showed his class to a new generation of Latrobe cricketers.

William "Bill" Fraser
Bill is a Latrobe person through and through. A former 1st Grade player and 2nd Grade captain, Bill has maintained an active role within LCC for close to 40 years. Bill has previously been President for six years, Treasurer and a member of the LCC and NWTCA committee for decades. He was inducted into the LCC Hall of Fame in 2008/09. He still attends matches at Latrobe Rec now, and is equally happy watching 1st Grade, 2nd Grade or our juniors. He is a real asset to our club.

Mrs Gaye Fraser
Gaye is the wife of fellow Life Member Bill Fraser. She was a stalwart of the club, devoting countless hours to looking after the players appetites at lunch and tea time on match days. Her monumental efforts in the kitchen and around the club were justifiably rewarded with Life Membership.

Brendan Boyles
A recently-retired member of our 1st Grade team, Brendan has been around our club since he was a raw-boned teenager. His 1st Grade record is second to none, having claimed the 1st Grade bowling average on four occasions and taking in excess of 200 wickets. A battle with arthritis cost him the best part of his twenties, yet he stayed around our club, helping players in 3rd and 2nd grade to improve. It was fitting that he finished his career with the opportunity to mix it with the best back up in 1st Grade, having previously played in back-to-back 2nd Grade Premierships.

Alan Broomhall
"Boofa" as he is affectionately known, is a former 1st Grade player with our club and is an avid sports fan. He made a big contribution as our inaugural 3rd Grade Captain, helping to develop a new breed of young cricketers, and off the field he was Secretary of the club for 17 years, working tirelessly to secure sponsorship. He is also known for his work with the NTFL.

Mrs Colleen Nicolle
Colleen has had a big impact on Latrobe Cricket Club. Her three sons all played for the club and she played an active role as well, acting as a cleaner of the club rooms and working tirelessly in the kitchen for many many years. Colleen was not a great fan of the limelight, but she went about her business with a smile on her face and without her the club would not have been the same. She now has grandchildren coming through the club, so we might see her back at the club a bit more.

Robert "Bob" Dickson
Bob is a former 1st Grade player at our club and has put a lot back in. The club can thank him for the many young players he attracted to the club who participated in the Latrobe Junior Competition that he ran for many years. Most 1st Grade players from the last 10 years have played in that competition and gotten to know Bob well. He is respected for the effort he puts in, nothing is too much trouble. Bob was President of our club for four years and was also Treasurer. Despite taking a step back from club duties in recent years, he was instrumental in the club securing funding for the refurbishment of our Indoor Centre. He is a true Latrobe person.

Ray Read
Ray is a former A-Grade player at our club and his grandson and nephew have also played at the club. Ray has been a successful Junior Coach at the club, bringing many young players into the fold and putting countless hours in to improve their cricket. In recent years Ray has taken on the role of curator, producing quality playing and training wickets renowned throughout the NWTCA. The club is indebted to Ray for the countless hours he has put in, all to benefit the players and members of LCC.

Stuart Ashdown
Stewart is a former 1st Grade player with the club and has a great record in the lower grades as a player and leader. He was a hard-hitting middle order batsman and seam bowler who used his great height to get his deliveries to rise sharply. Stewart is a true club person, taking on roles from President to 2nd and 3rd Grade Captaincy, and from 2005-2007 acted as Club Coach, helping 1st Grade to its second premiership in 2005/06. He has achieved success in all roles and the club owes a lot to him. His sons are now coming through the ranks and he is no doubt taking great enjoyment from that.

Darren Nicolle
"Flash" is a former 2nd Grade Premiership player with the club and often filled in as a substitute after retirement from playing, even hitting the winning runs from the last ball of a2nd Grade match! Darren has given 19-years of service as bar manager, an all encompassing role that has seen him almost single-handedly run the bar, purchase stock, clean the clubrooms as well as a myriad of other roles behind the scenes. The great clubroom facilities we have now are largely due to Darren's great work. If we were to pay Darren for all the work he currently does for the club for free we would be in some serious debt! In the last two seasons he has taken on the role of Club President, and has done a fantastic job. He is a great man, a Latrobe person to the core and we are very thankful for his involvement.

David Squibb
David is the club's 1st Grade Leading Runscorer and a former Tasmanian Underage Representative. Since coming to the club from Devonport he and his family have had an enormous presence at Latrobe. He is a former coach of the club and has become a much-loved figure for his great work with our younger players. David guided 2nd Grade to a Premiership in 2007/08 and was also a member of the 1st Grade Premiership team in 2005/06. A tall, powerful batsman, Squibb has punished bowling attacks for over 20 years, and has also taken plenty of wickets with his swinging medium-pacers and canny slower balls. Now David is proud to play with his sons, with eldest son Josh now performing well in 1st Grade. David's contribution to the club is enormous and we have been very lucky to have him.

Paul Dickson
It has been said that Dicko's blood is red and blue. He is one of many current players who joined the club thanks to his father Bob's work in Junior Development. Since debuting in 1997 Paul has rarely missed a 1st Grade game, and in 2010/11 became the 1st Grade Games Record Holder. Dickson is the club's longest-serving 1st Grade Captain, guiding the team to a Premiership in 2005/06 and is now entering a second stint as Club Coach. His unique leg-spin bowling action has seen him become a media favourite but it is not to be underestimated, as he is the club's most reliable and economical bowler. While has had some ups and downs with his batting, Paul was able to achieve a career goal by hitting a 1st Grade century against Ulverstone in 2008/09. Paul's passion for the club can never be questioned and he is without doubt one of the most influential people in the club's history.

Mrs Bev Dickson
Joining husband Bob and son Paul as a Life Member of Latrobe Cricket Club was no doubt a proud moment for the quiet, friendly and parochial Bev. She has been a mainstay of the Ladies Committee for close to two decades and shows no signs of slowing down yet. Bev can always be relied upon to support club functions, help with the catering for any grade playing at Latrobe, and she makes lovely scones! It is fantastic that a quiet achiever like Bev has been recognised with Life Membership - the honour is well deserved. |
