Latrobe Cricket Club - Player Of The Year

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Presented by latrobedemons.com

This award recognises the player who has produced the most consistent performances over a season.  It is open to players in any grade (making it different to our Club Champion Award - only open to 1st Grade players) and all club matches count towards the award.  Players score points based on the following criteria:

Progressive Points:

  • One (1) point per run;
  • Fifteen (15) points per wicket;
  • Seven point five (7.5) points per catch/stumping/run out;
  • Twenty (20) points per century with the bat;
  • Twenty (20) points per five wicket haul with the ball;
  • Ten (10)points per half-century with the bat;
  • Five (5) points for a not out.

Emphasising the fairness of the award, the top 10 from last year was made up of players from 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, Under-17's and Under-15’s.  This year the Under-13's are also eligible to win the award.  It really is an award where any member of the club could win!
