PLAYER OF THE YEAR

This award recognises the player who has produced the most consistent performances over a season. It is open to players in any grade (making it different to our Club Champion Award - only open to A-Grade players) and all club matches count towards the award. Players score points based on the following criteria:
Progressive Points:
- One (1) point per run;
- Fifteen (15) points per wicket;
- Eight (8) points per catch/stumping/run out;
- Four (4) points for each six hit;
- Four (4) points for a not out.
Bonus Points:
Bowling -
- Five (5) points upon reaching 150 runs for the season;
- Ten (10) points upon reaching 250 runs for the season;
- Fifteen (15) points upon reaching 350 runs for the season;
- Twenty-five (25) points upon reaching 500 runs for the season.
Batting -
- Five (5) points upon reaching 10 wickets for the season;
- Ten (10) points upon reaching 20 wickets for the season;
- Fifteen (15) points upon reaching 30 wickets for the season;
- Twenty-five (25) points upon reaching 40 wickets for the season.
Previous Seasons:
A-Reserve Captain David Squibb has won the first two awards in 2007/08 and 2008/09. His dominant displays with the bat, knack of taking wickets and numerous catches saw him amass an enormous amount of points over the last two seasons.
Last year was more even, with Jamie Aherne challenging Squibb for much of the season, but the wily veteran scored points when he needed to.
Emphasising the fairness of the award, the top 10 from last year was made up of players from each grade. It really is an award where any member of the club could win!
