Last season was the first annual President's XI v Latrobe Twenty/20 match, featuring AFL players Nathan Brown and Matthew Richardson, plus former and current greats of Cricket North West.  The match raised funds for the Cancer Council and received favourable media coverage in The Advocate and The Examiner, plus on Southern Cross Nightly News.

The 2008/09 event was sponsored by Goodstone Group, with the President's XI winning the match.  Ulverstone Sportpower were also terrific supporters, donating playing shirts to the President's XI team.  TASFRESH put on a free barbecue lunch and drink for all children participating in a free coaching clinic during the change of innings, and there was a big crowd in attendance on the day.  The generous support of these sponsors allowed Latrobe Cricket Club to cover the costs of staging the event and gold coin donations received on the day were passed on to the Cancer Council, a charity close to the hearts of all Latrobe people with the recent loss of Dean Butler.

In 2009/10 Latrobe Cricket Club again intends to stage this event, with AFL players participating in the match alongside sponsors, Latrobe players and Cricket North West players.  Our aim is to improve on last year's event and make it a great family day out.  To become involved in the day, why not join the club as a sponsor?
