LATROBE CRICKET CLUB Won by 90 runs

Match report Latrobe has entered the Christmas break full of confidence having defeated Burnie-Yeoman by 90 runs in Junior Colts. Captain Trent Keep won the toss and elected to bat, with Jamie Aherne the mainstay of the innings. Aherne continued his good form with the bat this year, top scoring with 45. Valuable contributions also came from Sam Squibb, who made his best score in reaching 24 and showed glimpses of his potential, as well as Luc Keep (16) and Josh Squibb (12 n.o). The Demons made a reasonable score of 152.

In reply Burnie-Yeoman were strangled by some great bowling from the Demons. New ball bowlers Zach Weeks and Callum Butler kept things tight, before change bowlers Josh Squibb (2-8) and Jamie Aherne (2-6) exposed the middle order. Spinners Tristan Weeks (2-10) and Luke Bryan (3-12) finished the job. The Emus were dismissed for just 62 in a great result for Latrobe.
